Session 3: Helping Parents Build Everyday Faith: If you’re like most youth ministries, 40 to 50 percent of your graduating seniors pick up their diplomas and ditch their faith. Why is that? For those graduates who remain connected to Jesus, what is it that makes the difference? Parents are a key to “sticky faith”—an influence so profound that it begs for innovative new ways to partner with them in ministry. This track takes a deep look at six years of research conducted by the Fuller Youth Institute on high school seniors and youth group graduates just like yours. In addition, you’ll hear stories from over 60 churches from around the country who have used this research to take innovative steps to help middle school and high school students develop deeper faith roots. Topics include: Teaching the gospel in a lasting way, integrating your students into the overall life of the church, partnering with parents in fresh new ways for real impact, developing a youth group environment that facilitates faith growth, preparing this year’s seniors for life after youth group, and changing your youth ministry and church culture
